I met Mathew and Chelsea for the first time at Charlestown SC, to do their engagement session. Right away they seemed like an easy going and laid back couple. I knew from that point the wedding will be a breeze. So the wedding day arrived and even though I knew everything was ready, there is one thing we couldn't control....the Weather! That morning, we woke up to a rainy start and 70% chance of rain all day! I was a little disappointed but had my fingers crossed for a dry day. Arriving at the destination a light drizzle began... while I could, I did the work indoors capturing small details of the preparations. In-between the drizzles we managed to get some beautiful shots outside. While heading to Magnolia Plantations Garden for the ceremony it was actually holding off on the rain... everything looked promising. But of course as time came closer to the walking down the isle the rain got heavier, everyone started having their own mini meltdowns. Chelsea at this point had a lot more stress on her besides the already emotion filled day. Everyone requested to move the ceremony inside but Chelsea knew this wedding must happen outside. I as a photographer I always keep my eye on the radar for weather. It is a huge part of our job because it decides and creates all. I knew that in 20 minutes the rain will pass, so I spoke with Chelsea and told her let's wait 20 more minutes. After all what's another 20 minutes to a lifetime of happy memories. Chelsea put trust in me and we held off the ceremony and when it was time, the clouds opened up to the most beautiful sun and weather to continue the wonderful celebration. As some people say, "To have rain on your wedding day is good luck"! What a beautiful memory this turned out.
